This painting tells the story of a person who lost their sense of safety overnight — a story of transformation from life to death, from stability to chaos. It serves as a reminder that safety is fragile, and that life can be turned upside down in an instant.
The print is 16" x 12" matte to avoid glare on 280 gsm eco-friendly canvas, with rich, vibrant colours and sharp details, crafted to showcase Maysa's artwork at its best.
Story behind the art
At the top of the painting, a house stands proudly on a floating rock — once safe, stable, and peaceful. It symbolizes the life that was: warm, full of memories, and rooted in a sense of security. But now, that home exists only as a distant memory, hovering above a tragic reality.
Below, destruction spreads mercilessly: collapsed walls, shattered dreams, and a life that no longer resembles what it once was. Chaos reigns, as if the earth has opened its mouth to swallow all that was once beautiful.
In the center, my head hangs downward — my life has turned upside down. I no longer know where to go or how to face this sudden transformation. Within me lies an indescribable shock, and a confusion that seeks answers which will never come. My body expresses the heaviness I carry — the pain that feels unbearable.
