Our Gaza Boat Tote bag is co-designed by children and artists in Gaza. It simply has a boat in Gaza's waters, with "Gaza" in Arabic calligraphy reaching out to the sun surrounded by doves.
Boats have a special place in Gaza's heart. There was a thriving fishing community, with generations of Palestinians involved in the industry. At the end of September 2023, over 6,000 people were directly employed by it, with an extended impact of 110,000 family members dependent on the trade.
But it has been a hazardous trade since the siege on Gaza began in 2007. Israeli snipers regularly shot at fishers, and the area in which they were allowed to fish constrained significantly.
And clearly hazardous for the many attempts at bringing aid into Gaza since the start of the siege to alleviate their enforced suffering.
Made on 100% recycled cotton, the full price less our production costs will make its way back to Palestine to support Gaza's children to rebuild.
