Support for Palestinian human rights should not be a fad or a fashion that waxes when Israel bombards Gaza, and then wanes when it's not in the headlines. Human Rights belong to all of us, all of the time. The Palestinian struggle is not just about nationhood or politics. It is about ending injustice, inequality and oppression. That is the core message of Freedom not Fashion.

We use as our emblem the Palestinian kuffiyeh, or headscarf. This itself was an item of fashion for a while in the early 2000s, but again, its significance as a symbol of Palestinian freedom was lost on most who wore it. It was, and remains, a symbol of Freedom, not Fashion.

People who care and fight for justice are standing up with and for the Palestinians. Don't stand by and watch abuse. Join us. Buy a shirt. Wear the message. Support Palestinian children.

About the products

Like all products in this shop, these are designed, made and shipped on a non-profit basis by volunteers. Meaning that aside from covering direct costs (the cost of the shirt and printing on it), all sales revenue is donated to the charity.

They are not made by, manufactured or shipped by Hope and Play, and the charity takes no liability for the products in any way.

Key facts about these items:

  • Shirts are printed on Gildan shirts, the industry standard. These are manufactured in a variety of locations, and you can read about their environmental and ethical policies on their site.
  • Hoodies are printed on blank Fruit of The Loom hoodies. The ones that we have are manufactured in Morocco, though as we don't own the process, we can't guarantee that they will always be made there. You can read about their code of conduct on their site.
  • The designs were either volunteered or purchased using a crowdsourcing facility, 99Designs.
  • Printing is done in the UK by Invent Clothing.
