2025 Calendar - Love from Gaza's Children
£13.97
Hope and Play's 2025 calendar features art made by children in Gaza in workshops designed to give them something more positive to think about than the destruction and genocide that surrounds them.
A calendar by Gaza's children for Gaza's children
Of all the victims of the violence inflicted on Gaza, her children and babies have suffered most cruelly. With over 16,000 killed, the sad reality is that many of the children who are still alive wish they weren't. Thousands without limbs, amputated without andesthetic. They've lost their parents, family and friends. Most have lost the homes they grew up in.
This has focused our work on two broad areas.
First, life. Keeping families alive with food, water and medicines, and fixing sanitation to limit the spread of disease.
Second, spirit. Using play, art, sport and therapeutic activities to remind them that there is something to live for beyond the death and destruction that surrounds them daily.
It is in those workshops that our partners at the Canaan Institute and the Shababeek Centre for Contemporary Art worked with the kids to create the art and stories that adorn these calendars.
Through their art, Gaza's children are sending us the clearest message of all. While the bombs, the starvation, the destruction and dehumanisation may continue, they cannot take away the resilience and endurance of the human spirit.
Your purchase of this calendar will fund grassroots organisations in Gaza in both tto support Gaza's children and families in both streams of activity - Life and Spirit.
Keeping them alive, and reminding them of reasons to stay alive
